Matt Castle is a Senior Lecturer in the Political Science and International Relations Programme at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He researches issues in international and comparative political economy, with a particular interest in the politics of trade and trade agreements. His current work explores the juxtaposition of continuity and change in the global trade regime. How do negotiators successfully promote new norms in the trade regime, in the face of institutional and political constraints on innovation? His research has been published in the Review of International Organizations, Conflict Management and Peace Science, Review of International Political Economy (RIPE), International Studies Quarterly, the Review of International Studies, among other outlets.
