Jamoy A.B. Morrison
TRAIL+6 alumnus
World Trade Institute, University of Bern
from Antigua & Barbuda
Jamoy is a West Indian born on the paradisiacal island of Antigua. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica. In addition to working as an intern at local law firms, Jamoy has worked on research projects, under the supervision of former law lecturers, on topics related to international economic law and international human rights law. He has also interned at the Directorate of the CARICOM Single Market and Trade of the CARICOM Secretariat, working on matters concerning intra-regional trade facilitation, investment law and policy, and the digital economy. As a son of the West Indian soil, he is committed to Caribbean advancement and spends much time pondering strategies to this end.
Conscious of the wealth disparity among nations and peoples, he is curious about how international economic law can help unlock opportunities for all. Mindful of the tremendous complexity of the world, he supports change informed by wisdom and strategy. Moved by the basic decency of people, he is stubbornly optimistic about the capacity of humanity to surmount existing challenges.
He hopes that the TRAIL+ programme will enlarge his curiosity, strengthen his research and analytical skills, and help prepare him for an exciting career in international economic law and policy.
