Vishakha Raj is an India-qualified lawyer with a keen interest in business and economic laws. During law school, she actively participated in moot court competitions and parliamentary debates. Through these activities, she discovered her interest in international relations and the role wealth distribution played in shaping systems of governance within and between countries. After graduating in 2019, she worked for two years as a researcher at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, closely scrutinizing India’s insolvency and competition laws. This experience gave her a foundation in business laws and how the interests of various stakeholders such as creditors, consumers, and entrepreneurs are balanced in the policy making process.

To understand how international trade and investment law can facilitate increased access to economic opportunities for people around the world, Vishakha is currently pursuing the TRAIL+ programme at the WTI. In particular, she is interested in the intersection between government policies towards international investment and labour rights. In her free time, she can be found taking long walks around the city, reading books on history, or persuading people to join her fantasy football league.
