Alessandra Hool
MILE 20 (part time)
WTI
After her initial studies of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Bern, Alessa Hool has been working as a project manager for various multi-partner projects, most of them in research and development in the materials field on a European level. During this time, she also completed the Master’s programme Project Management at the University of Salford, UK.
Since 2017, Alessa has been the CEO of ESM Foundation – Foundation for Rare Metals – where she previously worked as a project manager. The Foundation is dedicated to fostering research and development in critical raw materials with a focus on a more sustainable management of these resources.
Alessa’s aim in the MILE programme is to attain a sound understanding of international economics, trade, law and policy, in order to better comprehend the mechanisms of raw materials value chains and markets in an increasingly globalized world. She is particularly interested in the potential of policies to contribute to sustainable development.
Alessa is a member of the Working Group “Sustainable Development Goals Delivery” of the UNECE expert group for resource management. In her free time, she likes to be outside, read, hike, windsurf and swim in the Aare.
