Yeji Lee MILE 15

Yeji Lee received Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco. Her main responsibility at the Consulate General was to assist preparations for the official visit by the President of the Republic of Korea. She also wrote speeches for the Consul General and drafted research reports that were published as a critical resource for the Korean community abroad. With an interest in journalism and writing, Yeji wrote a column in The Korea Times while pursuing her first degree. She also produced news for a broadcasting club in her university, where she covered a variety of social and political issues in California and South Korea. After graduation, she went on to work for the National Broadcasting Company news team. Yeji developed a strong interest in international trade law after attending trade workshops and briefly working for the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency as an export consultation interpreter. Now a MILE student, she is motivated to cultivate her passion with a deeper, multidisciplinary understanding of international trade. She is excited for the opportunity to learn with and from the diverse group of fellow MILE colleagues. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in trade policy formulation or trade negotiation. In her free time, Yeji likes to read and learn languages. She also enjoys percussion of all types. In particular, she has been teaching and performing Korean traditional percussion and dance for the last five years.
