Songyuan LI received her Master of Laws focusing on American Business Law, in 2013, from Emory University School of Law, USA. Before this, She received her Bachelors in both Law and English Literature in 2012 from Shandong University, China. In six years of study, Songyuan developed concrete legal knowledge, research and analysis skills through her diversified legal study experiences. Prior to pursuing her L.L.M in US, Songyuan worked as an Intern Associate in an A-share Market IPO program at the King and Wood, Mallesons, China. During the undergraduate, she headed her university team receiving prizes in Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, Chinese Round, in 2012, and worked as a teaching assistant for International Economic Law course in her law school. Songyuan also diversified her legal background by studying Hong Kong law through an exchange opportunity in Hong Kong City University for a whole semester. After joining MILE program, Songyuan starts to focus on her professional interest --international trade regulations. Her main concerned topics are related to the Dispute Settlement Mechanism of WTO and China's recent development in this field. Songyuan speaks native Chinese and fluent English. Apart from her professional interest, Songyuan is a passionate photographer specialized in documentary and landscape photography. She also plays traditional Chinese musical instruments Gu Zheng and Gu Qin.
