Nadia Vassos graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences with Honours in International Development and Globalization. As part of her degree she carried out field research on social economy in Argentina where her research focused on democracy and horizontal practices in cooperatives. During her studies she completed five internships with the Canadian Federal Government including Statistics Canada, the Canadian International Development Agency, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. Since graduation she has continued her work with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, assisting with the negotiation of institutional provisions and implementation of bilateral free trade agreements with several Latin American countries, as well as the Ukraine, Morocco and South Korea. Nadia is bilingual in English and French, and also speaks intermediate Spanish. In her free time she enjoys sailing tall ships, traveling and interacting with different cultures.
