Dr. Maria Anna Corvaglia joined the Birmingham Law School in January 2017. Previously, she was a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Durham Law School in the context of the ERC-funded research project “Neo-Federalism: Dividing Political Power among People(s)”.
She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Zurich. She conducted her doctoral studies in the framework of the Swiss NCCR National Centre of Competence in Research on Trade Regulation, under the supervision of Prof. Christine Kaufmann. Maria Anna Corvaglia obtained a Master degree in International Law and Economics (MILE Programme) of the World Trade Institute, University of Bern. She also holds a bachelor degree in political science (with a specialization in international relations) from the LUISS University of Rome, where she worked as a research assistant in Public International Law after her graduation.
Maria Anna Corvaglia has been involved in various technical assistance and training programs, for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) at the WTO, and at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO)
