Faisal Babri graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from GIK Institute, one of South Asia’s top engineering schools. His primary area of interest lies in the challenging industrial sector of Pakistan, where he has approximately ten years’ experience dealing with supply chain and trade-related issues, including the deletion program and tariff-based system in Pakistan’s automobile industry. Alongside industry experience he has gained academic knowledge of WTO law and business law, including a Certification in Business Law, Certification in WTO Law, and attendance at the Summer Academy, World Trade Institute, University of Bern.
Faisal’s interests lie in the standardization and TBT issues faced by Pakistan’s industry. Prior to the MILE, he was associated with the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan while participating in numerous international courses related to standardization, production and process methods (PPM) under WTO agreements, including several Japanese production and quality management courses. Faisal believes that trade is especially pertinent to Pakistan’s numerous social, political and economic challenges and his goal is to acquire further insight and knowledge related to WTO law and international trade relations while studying the MILE programme.
