Noah Wheatley is a PhD student at the World Trade Institute, working on the SNF Project Climate Concerns and Trade Policy (CLIMTrade), under the supervision of Prof. Manfred Elsig.

Noah completed his bachelor’s degree with honours in Modern European Studies (a combination of political science, history, and German), from the University of Nottingham, in 2023. As part of his bachelor's degree Noah also undertook a year of study at Universität Wien, with a focus on German philology. He then began his master’s degree in Political Science, Swiss and Comparative Politics at Universität Bern and completed this in January 2025. Noah wrote his master’s thesis also under the supervision of Prof. Manfred Elsig, which investigated various factors impacting accession duration to the WTO.

In early 2024, Noah began working as a research assistant at the WTI, on the TRADEM project, which investigates the impact of international trade on democracy.

Noah speaks fluent English and an advanced level (C1) of German.
