Milena da Fonseca Azevedo

Milena da Fonseca Azevedo is a PhD candidate in Law at University of Sao Paulo (USP), visiting researcher at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, and fellow of the Ministry of Education in the Program of Academic Excellence (CAPES/PROEX) in Brazil. Milena is a former participant of the PhD Support Programme of the World Trade Organization. She holds a Master’s degree from USP, and a Bachelor Degree in Law from FGV Sao Paulo Law School. Her research topics are focused on International Trade Law, digital trade, artificial intelligence, regulatory standards and technical regulation, investment, environment, and OECD. She is a researcher of the Center for Global Trade and Investment Studies (CCGI) at Sao Paulo School of Economics (EESP-FGV) and a contributor of the Global Law and Development Center (NDGD) of FGV Sao Paulo Law School. Milena is also an International Trade lawyer, acknowledged in the specialized publication “The Legal 500” in 2017 and 2021 as “very knowledgeable on WTO regulations and international trade policy”. She is also part of Women Inside Trade, global network of women professionals, as a co-anchor on a number of episodes of the podcast “Witcast”, that invites trade experts to discuss trending topics of trade.
