Satyaki Majumdar is an ambitious legal professional from India. He completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, where he developed a strong interest in Investment Law and Intellectual Property (IP) Law, particularly their intersection with International Trade.

Satyaki’s decision to pursue a career in law was driven by his desire to contribute to the evolving landscape of Investment LawInternational Trade Regulations, and IP Law. His internship experiences in capital markets and investment law reinforced his dedication to these areas, motivating him to seek further specialization. Additionally, his early fascination with electronic devices sparked a deep interest in Intellectual Property Law, particularly in patents, copyrights, and their impact on global trade. During law school, he published an article on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and now aims to integrate his expertise in International Intellectual Property law with global trade regulations.

During his internships at leading law firms in India, Satyaki gained extensive experience in investment law, where he researched underwriting practices across jurisdictions, conducted in-depth analyses of ESG Funds, and explored key issues related to Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). His work contributed to the structuring and drafting of Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs) and the due diligence of complex investment structures.

Outside his academic endeavours, Satyaki enjoys playing football and cricket, traveling, and spending time in nature. His long-term goal is to leverage his legal expertise to influence free trade policies that promote economic growth while prioritizing environmental protection and intellectual property rights, particularly in developing economies. Satyaki aspires to bridge the gap between developed and developing nations by crafting policies that foster sustainable development and equitable trade relations on a global scale.
