Fabrizio Meliadò has been working since 2017 as an Economic Affairs Officer with the Agriculture and Commodities Division of the World Trade Organization. In this capacity, he is part of the Team responsible for supporting the work of the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) as well as various technical assistance (TA) and training projects focussing on SPS, technical barriers to trade (TBT) and Trade & Environment matters. Fabrizio has 16 years of high-level experience preparing studies, delivering TA, conducting field projects and teaching in areas such as: regulations and standards affecting international trade, with a focus on agricultural products, food safety and quality standards; environmental and social regulation affecting trade in goods and services; political, legal and socio-economic issues that underpin commodities trade; and subsidies and state aid, with a focus on fisheries subsidies. Fabrizio holds a PhD in International Law and Economics (Bocconi University, Milan, Italy), a Master's Degree in International Law and Economics (MILE, University of Bern/Fribourg/Neuchatel, Switzerland) and a "Laurea" Degree in Political Science and International Relations (University of Messina , Italy).
