Batuhan was born in Istanbul, Türkiye. He graduated from Istanbul Saint Joseph French High School before going on to Istanbul Bilgi University to study law.
At university, Batuhan decided to challenge himself by competing in the prestigious John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition. The encounter made such a profound impact on him that the next year, he decided to coach a team and impart the knowledge he had learned.
After graduating, he spent a year practicing international trade law and competition law at the prestigious Legal 500 firm ACTECON. His primary focus at the firm was assisting clients with ongoing issues related to regulatory compliance and competition. Additionally, he actively represented domestic and foreign clients in trade remedy investigations before the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye. He has also actively represented domestic clients before foreign Ministries and authorities.
His experience at his former firm provided him with invaluable insights into the complexities of international trade and competition law. This knowledge fueled his determination to establish his own firm Uzun & Erbay, dedicated to international trade, corporate law and insurance law. In two years, he has advised a number of clients in International Trade matters on imports and exports which furthered his interest in International Trade Law.
After all of his professional experience, Batuhan decided to fulfill his aspiration to pursue further academic growth. Which landed him in the World Trade Institute.
Batuhan is an avid reader, who is fluent in French, English and Turkish. He enjoys classical cars, drumming and motorcycles.
