from India
I am a lawyer enrolled with the Bar Council of India and am currently a candidate of the TRAIL+ programme at the World Trade Institute. I graduated from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, India with a degree in BBA LLB. I have an experience of more than 4 years in dispute resolution. I began my career with Bharucha & Partners, a prestigious law firm in India where I got the opportunity to handle and be engaged in several high-profile cases pertaining to white collar crimes. Prior to joining the WTI, I was practicing as a Counsel (Barrister) in Bombay in Chambers of Mr. Shyam Kapadia.
As a Counsel, I get frequently briefed by law firms for drafting and arguing matters across various legal fora. My areas of practice include civil & commercial law with a niche in admiralty, insolvency and company law litigation. Apart from the aforesaid, I have significant experience in commercial arbitration. My admiralty law practice exposed me to trade & investment related policies which piqued my curiosity motivating me to pursue higher studies in this field of law. Given my love for arbitration and having practiced it domestically, I now wanted to explore the same at an international level.
At the WTI, I intend to understand the nuances of International Trade & Investment Law, particularly from the point of view of dispute resolution. I also intend to deepen my understanding of international commercial arbitration, especially where States are involved as parties to the dispute. In my free time, I like to play golf and watch movies.
