Tamara Köhler discusses Reform of the Swiss Retirement Provision on SRF's "ECO Talk"

On 6 December 2021, Tamara Köhler, Research Assistant at the WTI, appeared on Swiss National Television (SRF)'s "ECO Talk" programme to discuss the Swiss parliament's renewed try to reform the retirement provision.

If the Swiss parliament's reform attempt  is successful, the current funding gap will be closed by 2030. However, there are still questions that need to be answered:

  • What happens after the reform passes?
  • An initiative calls for the retirement age of 66. But would the labor market be ready for it?
  • Can people over 60 still find a job?

Moderator Reto Lipp discussed this and more with Tamara and two other guests directly affected by a possible change of retirement provisions in Switzerland.
