Prof. Em. Thomas Cottier receives Honorary Doctorate by Saarland University

At the 70th Anniversary of the Institute, the Dean of the Law Faculty, Prof. Annemarie Matusche-Beckmann, awarded an honorary doctorate to Prof. Em. Thomas Cottier, who gave a keynote lecture on "The Rule of Law in International Economic Law".

Prof. Em. Cottier is the Founder and former Managing Director of the WTI. He has significantly shaped the field of world trade law and bilateral relations between Switzerland and the EU in science, practice and politics. Through his many years of experience as a lecturer at the Europa-Institut, he has also made a name for himself in the long-standing cooperation between the law faculties of the universities in Saarland and Bern.
