Successful Launch of the African Council for Trade Policy and Development (ACTRADE)
The theme of the Opening Ceremony was "The ACTRADE Initiative and the Promotion of Inter-African Trade" .
ACTRADE’s mission is to support states in drafting their trade policy strategy and to assist the private sector in this fluctuating international environment marked by globalisation. It consists of young Africans, experts in international trade policy and development, often graduates of the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (trapca), located within the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) in Arusha, Tanzania.
Around 70 members participated in the Opening Ceremony on 20 October 2021, where WTI Fellow Christian Häberli was elected Honorary Member of ACTRADE.
