Global Series No. 9: Workshop on Trade Agreements
The NCCR Trade Regulation and the Center of European Policy Studies (CEPS) organised a workshop on trade agreements and a public lunch lecture in Brussels on 27 March.
On Monday, 27 March, the NCCR Trade Regulation joined forces with the Center of European Policy Studies (CEPS) to organise a joint workshop in Brussels. The morning and afternoon sessions were dedicated to scholars presenting recent research on trade agreements using data from the DESTA project. Dr Roberta Piermartini from the WTO and Prof Dirk de Bièvre from Antwerp University acted as commentators (see workshop programme).
Over lunch a public event was held to debate the future of European Union trade policy (see lunch programme) post Brexit and in the context of Trump’s America First Idea. The event attracted around 100 people from the EU trade community.
The event was the ninth in the NCCR's Global Series on Trade Regulation that highlights insights gained by researchers over the 12 years of the research project. The next in the series will be held in Montreal on 19 April 2017.
