WTI researcher presents at International Conference in Milan
Ilaria Espa took part in the “What Energy Union” international conference at Bocconi University, Milan, on 29-30 April.
The conference aimed at discussing the position of the European Union in relation to energy law, both at the international and the EU level. Academics and practitioners were invited to address selected topics, ranging from the international protection of foreign investments and the legal regime applicable to energy contracts, to the EU as energy global actor and the promotion of renewable energy.
Dr Espa took part in the panel devoted to “Old Problems and New Challenges: Will the Energy Union Provide the Answer?” and gave a presentation on “Promoting Renewables in the Energy Union: Current Strategies and the Challenges Ahead”.
The panel was introduced by a keynote speech given by Professor Kim Talus, Professor of European Economic and Energy Law at UEF Law School and Director of the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law. It was chaired by Federico Eichberg, Counsellor at the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU.
