WTI researchers present papers at US law conference

The conference was hosted by the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and addressed the theme of “Reassessing International Economic Law and Development: New Challenges for Law and Policy”.

Over 60 leading scholars from around the world presented their academic work on the conference theme and on other important topics in international economic law (IEL).

Panels addressed the role of IEL in developing domestic strategies for development; regulating climate change and fostering clean energy strategies; addressing food security and technology transfer, and in promoting international financial stability.

The WTI was represented by Ilaria Espa and Kateryna Holzer, Post-doc researchers of NCCR Trade Regulation Work Package 5, who presented a paper on the topic of “Tackling Energy Issues Under TTIP: Towards Multi-speed Regulation?”. PhD candidate Carolina Palma spoke about “International Investment in Agriculture as a Contribution to Food Security” while Clarence Sibiza, whose doctorate is funded by the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), presented a paper on “The Case for Firm-Level Considerations in SADC Trade Facilitation”.
