A great week at the WTO Public Forum
The WTI is actively present, this week, at the WTO Public Forum in Geneva: "It's time for action!"
This week the 2023 WTO Public Forum takes place in Geneva. A unique event where the WTO open its doors to trade experts, academics, negotiators and civil society representatives for a week-long programme filled with discussions, panels and debates.
The new student cohort of the MILE and TRAIL+ programmes attended the Forum. The WTI also had a permanent stand at the Forum.
On Wednesday, 13 September, Prof Emeritus Thomas Cottier (WTI founder and Senior Research Fellow) moderated the panel "How trade policy can make (climate) migration work". More info on this panel debate here.
On the same evening, the traditional Alumni Get Together took place at the WTI Adviors LTD. offices. Thanks to all that attended! Stay tuned for some photos on our Facebook page.
On Thursday, 14 September, Prof. Peter Van den Bossche, the WTI Director of Studies, presented with Prof. Makane Moise Mbengue, University of Geneva, and Chrisphope Bellmann, Head of Policy Analysis and Strategy, TESS, the Report of the International Expert Group on Principles of International Law Relevant for Consideration in the Design and Implementation of Trade-Related Climate Measures and Policies.
During this well-attended session of the WTO Public Forum, Prof. David Luke, Professor of Practice and Strategic Director, London School of Economics and Geneviève Pons, Director General and Vice President, Europe Jacques Delors, acted as discussants.
