Focus on: Challenges to International Climate Governance – 2023 Summer Academy
Today let's take a deep dive into course 5 of the 2023 WTI’s Summer Academy. From the Kyoto Protocol to the Paris Agreement: learn about the history of climate change cooperation. Discover the policy impact of the latest IPCC reports. Analyse the most important links between trade and climate change: mitigation, adaptation and spillover effects.
This course is divided into 3 parts:
- The first is an overview of the current knowledge of Climate Change and its impacts. Thereby, the latest assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will be presented;
- The second deals with the political challenges to climate change governance and covers both the international level and the domestic level;
- The third will address international economic structures and climate change drivers.
